The Orthopaedic Implant Company launched its 5.5 millimeter PEEK Suture Anchor System at the 2019 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in Las Vegas, March 12-16.

Three things to know:

1. The system is designed to accommodate up to three No. 2 sutures of any brand. The anchors are composed of biocompatible PEEK polymer and have full-length threads for optimum fixation. The vented design is intended to promote increased blood flow.

2. "The OIC Anchor System marks OIC's entrance into the sports medicine market," said OIC President and CEO Itai Nemovicher.

3. OIC also offers hip fracture solutions, plates and screws, external fixation devices and intramedullary nails.
