Initial cases with Life Spine's Simpact Tri-Fin Sacroiliac Joint Fusion System complete — 5 insights

Surface Technology

Life Spine said several physicians have successfully used its Simpact Tri-Fin Sacroiliac Joint Fusion System.

Here's what you should know:

1. One of the surgeons to use the device was Ali Mesiwala, MD, of Pomona, Calif.-based Southern California Center for Neuroscience and Spine.

2. Dr. Mesiwala said, "My first surgery with Simpact Tri-Fin was seamless and incredibly simple. The procedure was complete in less than twenty minutes, the patient lost almost no blood and there was no bruising."

3. He also said the system reduces sacroiliac joint diastasis by allowing providers to "self-drill and tap."

4. The device also features an anti-rotational sleeve which protects against fenestrations and cannulation of the screw self-harvest bone.

5. The Simpact Tri-Fin was launched in November 2017 and is available as part of Life Span's procedural solutions portfolio.
