Parminder Singh, MD, successfully implanted the MectaLock PEEK suture anchor for labral repair in a patient in Australia on Oct. 25.

Four things to know:

1. The company's MectaLock PEEK suture anchor recently received FDA clearance and Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration registration.

2. MectaLock is a knotless instability anchor intended for soft tissue re-fixation in acetabular labral repairs in the hip and glenoid labrum repairs in the shoulder.

3. Medacta's MectaLock and MectaScrew PEEK interference screw are the company's latest offerings in the sports medicine field.

4. Dr. Singh performed the procedure at St. Vincent's Private Hospital East Melbourne, Australia.
