Here are 11 spine and orthopedic surgeons who performed surgery on professional athletes in 2020:

Bradford Currier, MD, performed spine surgery to repair a herniated disc in the back of Pittsburgh Penguins' forward Nick Bjugstad.

Boston Red Sox ace Chris Sale was operated on by Neal ElAttrache, MD, to deal with a recurring arm injury.

Michelle Carlson, MD, performed surgery to repair a ruptured scapholunate ligament in the right wrist of Utah Jazz forward Bojan Bogdanović.

Daniel Worrel, MD, repaired a torn labrum in the right shoulder of Dallas Mavericks guard Jalen Brunson.

David Altchek, MD, performed Tommy John surgery on New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard.
