Durango, Colo.-based Centura Health-Mercy Regional Medical Center and Mercy Sports Medicine became the new sports medicine provider for Fort Lewis College in Durango, The Durango Herald reports.
What you should know:
1. Mercy will oversee medical care for Fort Lewis College Athletics.
2. Matthew Smith, MD, of Centura Health, will lead the entire FLC medical staff and will ensure providers are properly trained and educated.
3. In addition to medical care, Mercy staff will provide physical therapy, athletic training and sports nutrition assistance.
