Jason Folk, MD, and Misty Suri, MD, performed arthroscopic surgery on the right knee of New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson, the team reports.

What you should know:

1. The team expects Mr. Williamson will be out for up to eight weeks as he recovers.

2. Mr. Williamson potentially injured his knee against the San Antonio Spurs in a preseason game Oct. 13, according to ESPN.

3. Dr. Folk is a sports medicine specialist at Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas in Greenville and Simpsonville. He focuses on knee and shoulder reconstruction and is a team physician for the U.S. Alpine Ski Team.

4. Dr. Suri is the Pelicans' head team physician and orthopedic surgeon. He sees patients at Jefferson, La.-based Ochsner Hospital for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
