The San Diego Seals lacrosse team designated UC San Diego Health as its official healthcare provider.
Three things to know:
1. UC San Diego Health primary care physician and sports medicine specialist David E.J. Bazzo, MD, will serve as the head team physician. UC San Diego sports medicine chief and orthopedic surgeon Catherine M. Robertson, MD, will serve as the associate team physician and lead orthopedic surgeon.
2. Orthopedic surgeon Bryan T. Leek, MD, as well as primary care physician and sports medicine specialist Kenneth S. Taylor, MD, will also provide on-site medical care for all athletes at Seals' training camps and home games.
3. UC San Diego Health is the official healthcare provider for the San Diego Padres, San Diego Sockers and many other local teams, schools and community events. For 2018-19, U.S. News & World Report ranked UC San Diego Health among the nation's best in six specialties, including orthopedics.
