Jeffrey Yao, MD, performed surgery on Toronto Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas' left thumb.
Here's what you should know:
1. Mr. Valanciunas' thumb was dislocated during the team's Dec. 12 game.
2. The 26-year-old center will wear a cast for four weeks before his condition is updated, according to the Raptors' media release.
3. Dr. Yao is an orthopedic surgeon at Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, Calif. He specializes in hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder surgery.
