New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery's Answorth Allen, MD, performed an arthroscopic stabilization surgery on the right shoulder of New York Knicks' guard Ron Baker.

1. Mr. Baker was injured in a game Jan. 30.
2. It's expected he will need between four and six months to recover fully from the injury.
3. Dr. Allen specializes in treating shoulder, knee and elbow injuries.
4. Dr. Allen is the NBA Players Association's past medical director.
