Dr. Bryan Kelly performs knee surgery on Rangers’ Kevin Shattenkirk – to remain out indefinitely

Bryan Kelly, MD, repaired New York Rangers Kevin Shattenkirk’s torn meniscus at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery, according to the New York Daily News.

Here’s what you need to know.

 

1. Mr. Shattenkirk suffered from a torn meniscus in his left knee prior to the start of the regular season.

 

2. Dr. Kelly reported Mr. Shattenkirk will remain out indefinitely, but noted the surgery is not season-ending.

 

3. Dr. Kelly is the head team physician for the Rangers and associate team physician for the New York Giants.

 

4. Specializing in sports medicine injuries, Dr. Kelly is the chief of sports medicine at Hospital for Sports Medicine.
