Andrews Sports Medicine to open latest clinic: 5 things to know

Birmingham, Ala.-based Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center plans to open a new clinic, Andrews Sports Medicine – Trussville (Ala.).

Here are five things to know:

 

1. The clinic is scheduled to open on Jan. 2, 2018. It is located in the recently-opened St. Vincent's Trussville outpatient center.

 

2. Cherie Miner, MD, and Chris Carter, MD, will staff the new clinic. The two will work with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, athletic trainers, nutritionists and coaches to provide comprehensive, non-surgical care to patients of all ages.

 

3. Dr. Miner specializes in non-surgical medicine and platelet rich plasma therapy. She underwent fellowship training from James Andrews, MD, at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham.

 

4. Dr. Carter specializes in primary care sports medicine. He underwent fellowship training at the American Sports Medicine Institute and Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center.

 

5. Co-founded by Dr. Andrews, Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center is a leader in pioneering comprehensive treatment and research for orthopedics, sports medicine injury treatment and prevention.
