Detroit Pistons tap Drs. Vasilios Moutzouros, Ramsey Shehab as team physicians: 5 highlights

The Detroit Pistons named Vasiliois Moutzouros, MD, and Ramsey Shehab, MD, of Detroit-based Henry Ford Health System team physicians.

Here are five highlights:

 

1. Dr. Moutzouros is an orthopedic surgeon and chief of the sports medicine division at Henry Ford Health.

 

2. Dr. Moutzouros has authored more than 30 research articles on ACL, elbow and shoulder injuries, as well as Tommy John surgery. He underwent fellowship training at Cleveland Clinic.

 

3. Dr. Shehab is a primary care sports medicine physician and deputy chief of sports medicine at Henry Ford Health.

 

4. Dr. Shehab underwent fellowship training at Work Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. His clinical interests include nutrition and concussion care.

 

5. Henry Ford Health will serve as the official healthcare provider for the Pistons this season. Under the partnership, Henry Ford Health and the Pistons plan to build a training, rehabilitation and sports medicine complex.
