Patriots' Dont'a Hightower seeks 2nd opinion from Dr. James Andrews: 4 highlights

Patriots linebacker Dont'a Hightower will visit James Andrews, MD, for a second opinion, according to NBC Sports.

Here are four highlights:

 

1. Mr. Hightower suffered a right knee injury during the season opener. Initial reports said Dr. Hightower sustained a minor MCL sprain.

 

2. Dr. Andrews evaluated Mr. Hightower last week; however, it is unclear if his diagnosis has changed.

 

3. Mr. Hightower began training camp on the physically unable to perform list due to his knee injuries suffered last season.

 

4. Dr. Andrews is a founder of the Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Ala. He is the team physician for the Tampa Bay Rays and Washington Redskins.
