Dr. David Altchek operates on New York Knicks' Joakim Noah — 5 things to know

David Altchek, MD, of New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery performed shoulder surgery on New York Knicks center Joakim Noah.  

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Dr. Altchek repaired Mr. Noah's rotator cuff.

 

2. The surgery was performed at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery on Wednesday, April 26.

 

3. Mr. Noah is expected to be sidelined for six months, according to NY Daily News.

 

4. Mr. Noah underwent surgery on the same shoulder last season with Dr. Altchek when he played for the Chicago Bulls.

5. Mr. Noah has played in just 75 games over the past two seasons due to various injuries.
