Dr. Juliet DeCampos of Andrews Institute to treat Cincinnati Reds at spring training— 4 notes

Juliet DeCampos, MD, of Gulf Breeze, Fla.-based Andrews Institute will join the Cincinnati Reds for spring training for the sixth time.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. Dr. DeCampos is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist at Gulf Breeze, Fla.-based Andrews Institute.

 

2. She will check minor league pitchers' shoulders, elbows, hands and wrists to make sure they are healthy heading into the season.

 

3. She is the medical director for the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, the Reds' Double-A affiliate and also serves as team physician for Pensacola, Fla.-based Pine Forrest High School.

 

4. Dr. DeCampos said: "There's a certain level of respect and deference that I have earned over the last seven years."
