4 things to know about staffing in outpatient orthopedic centers

VMG Health Intellimarker compiled statistics on the number of staff present at 201 freestanding ASCs from across the United States. These are the numbers for outpatient, primarily orthopedic centers.

1. The average outpatient orthopedic center has 28.2 full time staff members.

 

2. A center on average has 13.1 nurses, 5.4 techs, 9.3 administrative employees and one full time administrator.

 

The average hourly salary for nurses is $32.71, techs are paid $21.40 and administrative staff is paid $24.50. The average salary for an administrator is $126,965.

 

3. The 50th percentile of centers have approximately 12.1 nurses, 4.8 techs, 7.9 administrative employees and one full time administrator, totaling 28.1 employees.

 

The average hourly salaries are $33.33, $20.54 and $24.84, respectively. The administrator's salary is $132,136.

 

4. The 90th percentile of centers have approximately 19.1 nurses, 7.5 techs, 11.9 administrative employees and one full time administrator, totaling 40.6 employees.

 

The average hourly salaries are $36.69, $26.04 and $28.84, respectively. The administrator's salary is $146,376.
