6 things to know about Dr. Brian Cole, a leading North American sports knee surgeon

Orthopedic surgeon Brian Cole, MD, MBA, was among the leading sports knee surgeons Orthopedics ranked in an article titled "The 16 Standout North American Sports Knee Surgeons."

Here are six things to know about Dr. Cole:

 

1. Dr. Cole is Chicago-based Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush's associate chairman and professor in the orthopedics as well as anatomy and cell biology departments.

 

2. He is the surgery chairman at Rush Oak Park (Ill.) Hospital.

 

3. At Rush University Medical Center, Dr. Cole is the section head of the Cartilage Restoration Center.

 

4. He is a team physician for the Chicago Bulls as well as a co-team physician for the Chicago White Sox and Chicago-based DePaul University.

 

5. He completed his sports medicine fellowship at University of Pittsburgh.

 

6.  Dr. Cole is also chairing the upcoming first-ever Chicago Sports Summit on Oct. 5.
