A majority of hospitals performed between 500 and 1,000 joint replacement procedures in 2014, according to the 2015 Joint Replacement Benchmark Report by Ortho Service Line.
The survey polled orthopedic leaders at 100 U.S. acute care hospitals in May 2015.
Here are the annual volumes of joint replacements (hip and knee) and U.S. hospitals in 2014:
• 0-199 — 6 percent
• 200-499 — 29 percent
• 500-999 — 38 percent
• 1,000-1,999 — 18 percent
• 2,000+ — 8 percent
