Arizona Cardinals


Doug Freedberg, MD. Dr. Freedberg is a physician with the Arizona Sports Medicine Center in Scottsdale. He earned his medical degree from the University of Arizona and completed his orthopedic surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. His additional training includes a sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Ala. Dr. Freeberg's professional interest includes knee and shoulder surgery, specifically golf and throwing injuries. In addition to his practice, he serves as a team physician for several local high schools and serves as a mentor for medical students. In addition to his work with the Cardinals, Dr. Freedberg works with the Oakland Athletics, LPGA and PGA tours.

Gary Waslewski, MD.
Dr. Waslewski is a physician with The Orthopedic Center of Arizona in Phoenix. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Dr. Waslewski's additional training includes a sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Ala. Dr. Gillogly is a physician with Atlanta Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center. He earned his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C., and completed his internship and orthopedic residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Dr. Gillogly's additional training includes a fellowship at Alabama Sports Medicine Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham under James Andrews, MD. Andrew Tucker, MD.
Dr. Tucker is chief of sports medicine at Union Memorial Sports Medicine in Lutherville, Md. He earned his medical degree from Southern Illinois University in Springfield and completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship at the Alabama Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Ala. Dr. Tucker completed a further internship at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Salem, N.C. He is a diplomat of the American Academy of Family Physicians and has published several articles related to sports medicine. He has a professional interest in upper and lower extremity injury treatment and treatment for sports-related concussions. His previous team affiliations include the Cleveland Browns. John Marzo, MD.
Dr. Marzo is a physician with University Sports Medicine in Amherst, N.Y. He earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse and completed a master's degree in anatomy at SUNY Buffalo. Dr. Marzo completed his residency in orthopedics surgery at SUNY Buffalo and a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery with The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Burton F. Elrod, MD.
Dr. Elrod is a physician with Elite Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Nashville, Tenn. He earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he also completed his residency in orthopedic surgery. Dr. Elrod continued his studies in sports medicine at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Foundation in Los Angeles. His professional interests include arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder and elbow. Dr. Andrews is the founder of Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Ala. He earned his medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed his orthopedic residency at Tulane University in New Orleans. Dr. Andrews' additional training includes a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and at the University of Lyon in France. He is nationally recognized as a leader in sports medicine for his work with professional athletes from around the country. He is a member of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Andrews is a past president of the American Orthoapaedic Society for Sports Medicine and has served on the board of directors for the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the International Knee Society.
