More than 25 independent, small practices in the Mid-Atlantic region have come together to form the Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics, an umbrella organization, according to a Washington Business Journal report.
Under the organization, the groups can contract with insurance carriers as a single unit. The original groups remain different business units, but share back-end services, marketing and technology across the larger group, according to the report.
According to the Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics website, the organization includes 125 physicians, and it has locations in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Washington D.C.
