Here are 10 orthopedic surgeons who recently performed surgery on professional athletes.
1. James Andrews, MD, founder of Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, Fla., performed shoulder surgery on Washington Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo.

2. Dr. Andrews also performed knee surgery on Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.

3. Team physician for the Phoenix Suns Thomas Carter, MD, performed knee surgery on Grant Hill.

4. Peachtree Orthopaedic Clinic's Xavier Durlande, MD, performed surgery on Atlanta Hawks' Al Horford, assisted by team physicians Michael Bernot, MD, and Ashok Reddy, MD.

5. Neal ElAttrache, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, performed surgery on Golden State Warriors' Kwame Brown.

6. Dr. ElAttrache also performed elbow surgery on Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Blake Hawksworth.

7. Team physician for the Minnesota Timberwolves David Fischer, MD, performed knee surgery on guard Malcolm Lee.
