Steven Shin, MD, will perform hand surgery on boxer Ryan Garcia Oct. 18 at the Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Surgery Center, according to Big Fight Weekend.
Mr. Garcia sustained an injury to his right hand during a training session and withdrew from a November fight with WBC interim lightweight champ Joseph Diaz Jr., Golden Boy Promotions said Oct. 15.
Dr. Shin recently performed surgery on Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, repairing two injuries in Mr. Wilson's finger.
