Damion James, a small forward for the New Jersey Nets, will receive surgery for a broken right foot at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, according to a hospital news release.

Mr. James suffered the injury during a game last Thursday against the Dallas Mavericks and thought his soreness was normal. However, x-rays and MRI showed that he will need surgery for the broken foot. A timetable for his recovery won't be released until after the surgery.
