Victory Healthcare kicked off its Veteran’s initiative with a donation to the George W. Bush Institute at the Warrior Open golf tournament in 2013. Since then, Victory facilities have raised money for veteran’s organizations by hosting various fundraisers. The effort also includes an equal opportunity employment policy and proactive veteran recruitment for open job positions.
“Not only does Victory Medical Center Landmark care about my patients as much as I do, and provide quality patient care but I’m so proud to be affiliated with an organization that supports our veterans,” said Steven Cyr, MD, founder and president of San Antonio-based Orthopaedic & Spine Institute.
Dr. Cyr is the former chief of spine surgery and spine surgery consultant to the Surgeon General of the Air Force. He was recently given the San Antonio Business Journal’s Healthcare Heroes Award for Excellence in Military Medicine.
“Our commitment to honor and support America’s wounded warriors is now the signature focus of our company’s charitable activities and we want it integrated into every facet of our organization,” said Robert N. Helms Jr., chairman of the board and CEO of Victory Healthcare, in a news release.
