VB Spine, the company formed from Stryker’s sold-off U.S. spine business, became an industry sponsor for the AAOS’ American Spine Registry, according to a Sept. 5 news release.
The ASR is a collaboration between the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons to analyze data from spine surgeries nationwide. The 2025 ASR annual report included 342,000 cases, helping surgeons, hospitals and researchers benchmark performance and track trends.
VB Spine’s sponsorship will support the ASR’s growth, including expansion of its degenerative lumbar and cervical spine modules.
“With support from VB Spine, we are accelerating our mission to improve patient care and advance the science of spine surgery,” Steven Glassman, MD, co-chair of the ASR executive committee, said in the release. “Given that degenerative spine conditions affect millions of patients and drive significant healthcare costs, this partnership represents a step forward in our ability to generate the evidence-based insights that surgeons and patients need to make informed treatment decisions.”
At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
