UPMC Washington (Pa.) has launched a new hospital inpatient telehealth neurosurgery consultation service, according to an April 27 news release.

The program lets hospital teams consult with advanced practice providers specializing in neurosurgery, supported by neurosurgeons Vincent Miele, MD; Edward Andrews, MD and David Fernanded-Cabral, MD.

“This service is another important step in strengthening the level of specialty care available here at UPMC Washington,” Brook Ward, president of UPMC Washington, said in the release. “Since joining UPMC, we have remained focused on building services that meet the needs of our community. Expanding access to neurosurgical expertise for our inpatients enhances care coordination, supports our care teams and allows patients to receive advanced care closer to home.”

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
