1. The grant will go toward neurosurgery research, aiding researchers discover how to help patients recover from brain injuries.
2. More specifically, the money will aid research on transcranial direct current stimulation.
3. This therapy is designed to use electricity to re-stimulate a brain following injury.
4. Professor Jason Weick will also use the funds to continue his research on the use of stem cells in regenerating brain function.
5. The neurology, neurosurgery, neurosciences and psychiatry and behavioral sciences departments will all receive parts of the grant.
