UNC Health spine center earns 2nd seal of approval

Morganton, N.C.-based UNC Health Blue Ridge’s spine center has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for the second time, according to a Feb. 8 report from The News Herald

The spine center first earned the seal in 2021, reflecting a commitment to safe and quality patient care. 

The Joint Commission looks at how organizations use clinical outcomes and performance measures to identify opportunities to improve care and educate and prepare patients for post-surgical care. 

UNC Health Blue Ridge earned the certification after a one-day onsite review. The new accreditation is good for two years.
