Hilary Onyiuke, MD, founder of the UConn Health Comprehensive Spine Center and vice chair of University of Connecticut’s department of neurosurgery, has been tapped to sit on Augmedics’ national technical board, according to an April 24 report from UConn Today.

Augmedics is best known for its augmented reality platform, the Xvision spine system, which allows physicians to perform surgical procedures with greater accuracy, according to the report.

In the last year and a half, Dr. Onyiuke has performed over 500 procedures using the AR technology, according to the report.

Augmedics’ technical board is made up of eight spine surgeons who work across the country. Dr. Onyiuke also specializes in robotic spine surgery.
Isaac Moss, MD, chair of orthopedics at UConn Health in Farmington, Conn., recently performed Augmedics’ 10,000th Xvision case.
