UConn Men’s Basketball Coach Jim Calhoun Undergoes Spinal Surgery at Beth Israel in New York

University of Connecticut in Storrs, Conn., Men’s basketball coach Jim Calhoun had a successful spine surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, according to a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette report.

The two-hour surgery involved removing an extruded disc fragment that had been pressing on a spinal nerve. Mr. Calhoun was diagnosed with spinal stenosis before the surgery.
