Professional golfer Tiger Woods had his seventh career back surgery in October.
Here is a timeline of his surgeries:
2014: Charles Rich, MD, completed a microdiscectomy procedure on Mr. Woods.
2015: Mr. Woods had two back surgeries in October and September.
2017: Richard Guyer, MD, of Plano-based Center for Disc Replacement at the Texas Back Institute performed anterior lumbar interbody fusion on Mr. Woods for pain related to sciatica.
2021: Mr. Woods had a microdiscectomy to remove a pressurized disc fragment that was pinching his nerve.
2024: Sheeraz Qureshi, MD, operated on Mr. Woods. The golfer had a microdecompression surgery in his lumbar spine for nerve impingement.
2025: Dr. Qureshi operated on Mr. Woods at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery. He performed at lumbar disc replacement to address a collapsed disc.
