Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare to construct new surgical center, expand neurological services — 5 highlights

Tallahassee (Fla.) Memorial HealthCare is building a $250 million surgical center, according to Tallahassee Democrat.

Here are five highlights:

 

1. Construction of the M.T. Mustian Medical Center will begin in April or May of 2016, and is expected to take two-and-a-half years.

 

2. The five-story surgical center will be 340,000-square-feet.

 

3. The surgical center will include advanced technologies and shorter distances between operating rooms, intensive care and emergency room.

 

4. The center will hold 72 adult ICU beds and 28 operating suites.

 

5. TMH already offers extensive neurological services, so the center will provide additional room to serve Tallahassee’s neurological needs.
