The Joint Commission recognizes facilities based on surgical intervention, preoperative and postoperative patient-reported outcomes, surgical-site infection rates and other criteria, according to a Feb. 28 news release from Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health. Eligible facilities undergo a two-day on-site evaluation.

Novato Community Hospital is Sutter Health’s only facility to earn a spine certification. It is also the only hospital in the region with the accreditation and one of three in the state, according to the commission.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
