More than 680 students were randomly selected to participate in the study by completing a questionnaire about daily activity, backpack carrying, psychological and psychosocial behavior. LBP was reported in 41 percent of the participants.
The research showed that male adolescents had more energy than female adolescents and that they were calmer, which made LBP more common among female respondents. A high level of stress, depression and nervous moods were related to the LBP intensity and frequency.
