Data regarding the preoperative and intraoperative risk factors for wound infection in 45 patients were evaluated using univariate analysis and multivariable conditional logistical regression. There were 16 patients who acquired postoperative wound infection.
The significant risk factors associated with the postoperative wound infection included albumin less than 3.0, previous surgery, operating time greater than six hours and instrumentation.
