Bend, Ore.-based St. Charles Health has added Seaspine’s 7D spine navigation system, according to an April 24 report from NBC affiliate KTVZ.

St. Charles surgeons are the first in the state to use the system, which was officially added in fall 2024.

The first procedure using the system was completed by neurosurgeon Raymond Tien, MD. The system offers surgeons a 3D view of the spine when inserting hardware, allowing for better surgical accuracy and faster patient recovery.

The addition cost St. Charles $700,000, making it the largest investment the system made in 2024, according to the report.
