Texas Spine & Joint Hospital in Tyler told CBS19 it would not mandate the vaccine because it’s a joint venture between the health system, physicians and United Surgical Partners International.
Baylor Scott & White sait it would work with joint venture partners and adjust its policy as needed. Jess Mowery, a spokesperson for Texas Spine & Joint Hospital, told CBS19 it aims to promote safety for patients and staff.
Health systems across the U.S. are now requiring staff to receive the COVID-19 vaccine unless granted an exemption. Becker’s compiled a list of more than 60 large health systems with vaccine mandates as of July 29. Most physician-owned entities, including ASCs, do not require employees to get the vaccine.
