Spine surgeon named CEO at healthcare startup

Medtech company Mocingbird named its co-founder Ian Madom, MD, as CEO.

Dr. Madom, a spine surgeon at Warwick-based Ortho Rhode Island, founded Mocingbird with interventional cardiologist George Fernaine, MD. Dr. Madom’s clinical practice focuses on innovation and robotics in spine surgery, according to a Feb. 2 news release emailed to Becker’s.

He takes over for Brad Artery, who had been CEO since 2019. Mr. Artery will continue as president of the company and help scale its growth.

Mocingbird is a cloud-based SaaS CME management platform for healthcare organizations. It helps with healthcare credentialing and education processes, the release said.
