Frank Phillips, MD, is a leader in minimally invasive spine surgery.
Dr. Phillips is director of minimally invasive spine surgery at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in Chicago, and he was among the first to bring these procedures to Chicago. He’s also a founder, board member, and past president of the Society of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery.
In recent years Dr. Phillips became the first spine surgeon to use Augmedics’ new CT-to-fluoroscopy registration method.
Before joining Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in 2003 he was director of the Spine Center at The University of Chicago.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa and completed his residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
