Stuart Weinstein, MD, of the University of Iowa in Iowa City, and Carol Wise, PhD, of Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, received grants from the societies.
Dr. Weinstein aims to establish the relative short-term effectiveness of casting and bracing in the treatment of idiopathic early-onset scoliosis.
Dr. Wise is researching disease genes in early-onset scoliosis patients.
