The bill would protect Medicare beneficiary access to physician-led care, according to an Oct. 30 news release shared with Becker’s.
It was introduced by representatives Greg Murphy, MD, R-N.C.; Jimmy Panetta, D-Calif.; Mariannette Miller-Meeks, MD, R-Iowa; Ami Bera, MD, D-Calif.; Larry Bucshon, MD, R-Ind.; Raul Ruiz, MD, D-Calif.; John Joyce, MD, R-Pa.; and Kim Schrier, MD, D-Wash.
The AANS and CNS have previously raised concerns over Medicare’s proposed physician fee schedule pay cuts, backing bipartisan letters related to the move. The groups also backed the bipartisan Physician Led and Rural Access to Quality Care Act, which would establish exceptions to rules related to physician-owned hospitals.
