Spine and brain tumor surgeon joins NYU Langone Health

Jonathan Yang, MD, PhD, joined New York City-based NYU Langone Health’s Perlmutter Cancer Center as director of clinical research at its Brain and Spine Tumor Center.

Dr. Yang will build a metastatic disease program in the Department of Radiation Oncology as director of the metastatic disease service. He will also be associate vice chair for clinical research and developmental therapeutics at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s radiation oncology department.

At the Brain and Spine Tumor Center he will focus on treatment for all types of brain tumors and expand its clinical research portfolio.

Dr. Yang treats brain tumors, metastatic brain tumors and spinal cord tumors. He earned his medical degree from Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn., and he earned his doctorate from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Dr. Yang completed his radiation oncology training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
