AiM Medical Robotics entered a collaboration agreement with technology company Siemens Healthineers to integrate its robotic neurosurgery platform with Siemens MRI systems.
The interface will allow AiM’s MRI-compatible robotic stereotactic neurosurgery system to operate with Siemens Healthineers’ Magnetom MRI scanners, according to a May 26 news release.
The integration supports real-time, MRI-guided neurosurgical procedures, including neurostimulator lead placement, tumor and epilepsy ablation, biopsies and therapeutic delivery.
The collaboration also includes compatibility with Siemens Healthineers’ recently launched Magnetom Free.XL MRI system, which the companies said could expand access to MRI-guided interventions.
The agreement establishes a framework for future software synchronization and broader integration efforts between the two companies’ technologies, according to the release.
