Scoliosis Research Society Honors Two Spine Surgeons

The Scoliosis Research Society has honored two physicians with the 2013 Whitecloud Award for the Best Clinical Paper.

The winners include Justin Smith, MD, for the paper “Surgical Treatment of Pathological Loss of Lumbar Lordis (Flatback) in the Setting of Normal Sagittal Vertical Axis (SVA Achieves Similar Clinical Improvement as Surgical Treatment for Elevated SVA.”

 

The other honor went to Takashi Kaito, MD, PhD for the paper “Effect of Intermittent Administration of Teriparatide(PTH1-34) on BMP Induced Bone Formation in a Rat Spinal Fusion Model.”

 

Dr. Smith won the award for best clinical paper and Dr. Kaito won the award for best basic science paper.
