There were 3,052 healthy adolescents included in the study, with 51 percent being female. The average SRS-22 scores were:
• Activity: 4.31±0.54
• Pain: 4.44±0.67
• Image: 4.41±0.64
• Mental: 3.96±0.81
• Total: 4.26±0.54
The researchers found females had lower scores in the mental domain than males and the children age 10 to 12 years old were higher in activity, pain and mental than those who were 13 to 19 years old. The 13 to 15 year old age group had significantly higher scores than the older age group in each of the same categories.
Caucasians reported higher scores in most domains than other racial or ethnic groups.
