Here are four facts:
1. Rice Health hopes to raise $200,000 at its annual holiday gala on Nov. 13 to build the new center. The foundation eventually hopes to raise a total of $1.5 million for the new center.
2. The outpatient rehabilitation center will cost $5.9 million.
3. The new center will offer rehabilitation services for adults and children. Some services include cancer and cardiac rehabilitation as well as speech and physical therapy.
4. To promote the fundraising, the foundation created a video of real patient stories. A preschooler with spina bifida is featured.
