Providence Saint John’s Health Center recruits Dr. Santosh Kesari: 5 things to know

Santosh Kesari, MD, PhD, joined the staff at Providence Saint John’s Health Center and the John Wayne Cancer Institute.

1. Dr. Kesari was recruited to join as the director of neuro-oncology, professor of neurosciences and chair of the department of translational neuro-oncology and neuro-therapeutics.

 

2. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Kesari is involved in immunotherapy, molecular genetics, innovative drug development for cancer stem cells and novel biomarker-based clinical trials for cancers.

 

3. He previously was professor of neurosciences at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine and director of neuro-oncology at Moores UC San Diego Cancer Center.

 

4. Dr. Kesari develops targeted drug therapies that will advance brain tumor treatment to a new level. His practice focuses on metastatic brain tumors originating in the breast, lung, skin and other sources.

 

5. He earned his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
