Pennsylvania report recognizes PinnacleHealth for high-quality spine surgery — 3 insights

The Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council report on spinal fusions in the state recognized Harrisburg, Pa.-based PinnacleHealth for its quality spine surgery services, according to Lebanon Daily News.

Here are three insights:

 

1. PinnacleHealth Spine Institute surgeons performed the fourth highest volume of spinal fusions in Pennsylvania, at 780 operations in 2014.

 

2. The institute also kept readmission rates low for complications.

 

3. The report found PinnacleHealth’s average hospital charge of $38,646 for spinal fusions ranked among the lowest in Pennsylvania.
