Orthopedic surgeon leader to know: Dr. Robert F. LaPrade of The Steadman Clinic

Robert LaPrade, MD, serves as the chief medical officer and co-director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program at the Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colo.

lapadreAlso the committee chair of research for the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and a board member of the Vail Valley Medical Center board of directors, he has been awarded the title of “One of the Best Doctors in American” and “One of the Most Compassionate Doctors.”

 

The orthopedic surgeon has developed expertise in posterolateral knee injuries, PCL/ACL tears, ACL reconstructions, MCL injuries, meniscal transplants, and other sports knee injuries.

 

Dr. LaPrade has published more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts and has been awarded several honors for his talents as a teacher, including three awards given by fellows at the Steadman Clinic Sports Medicine Fellowship.

 

Dr. LaPrade completed his medical degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago and his medical internship at Michigan State University, following that with a medical residency at Michigan State University’s Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies and a fellowship at the Hughston Sports Medicine Clinic in Columbus, Ga.
