The trial for Eric Braverman, MD, will begin March 9 after he was accused of sexually assaulting a patient at his private practice in New York City in 2017, the New York Post reports.

The accusation came one year after the neurosurgeon avoided jail time on similar charges, according to Patch

In 2016, Dr. Braverman was charged with felony sexual abuse after he allegedly molested a woman in his apartment. He pleaded guilty to sexual harassment and evaded a prison sentence.

The physician’s attorney said his client is innocent.

In 1996, the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners revoked Dr. Braverman’s license after he allegedly misdiagnosed patients and prescribed them inappropriate treatments. One year later, after a $20,000 settlement, his license was reinstated.
